Research
My research focuses on three broad themes
Online Teaching and Learning
Educational practices that occur in an online setting. I have examined strategies to design and facilitate online courses as well as to assess and engage online learners in asynchronous, synchronous and bichronous online modalities. I also conducted studies on faculty and student readiness, faculty professional development, student satisfaction, and award-winning online teaching practices.
Cybersecurity Education
Practices to protect individuals and educational settings from cyber threats and risks. I have investigated digital safety in K-12 settings, cybersecurity practices in educational environments, cybersecurity professional development for teachers, cybersecurity awareness for older adults, and cybersecurity integration in other content areas.
Technology Enhanced Learning
Use of technology to enrich and improve the learning experience. Some of the topics I have studied includes digital distraction, adaptive learning, mobile learning, multimedia learning, educational technology competencies and artificial intelligence in education.
