Na Liu Na Liu
Na Liu began her doctoral studies in Learning, Design, and Technology at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in the fall of 2024. She holds a Master of Education degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. With a deep passion for teaching and learning, Na Liu is a certified teacher in China, where she has gained extensive experience teaching ESL in middle and high schools. Her research primarily focuses on the integration of technology in K-12 education, with a particular interest in the application of AI in these settings. Additionally, she aims to leverage her skills in learning analytics to drive innovation in digital assessment. Email – nliu22@ncsu.edu

Katy Haywood Katy Haywood
Katy Haywood began her educational career as a teacher in Scotland County, N.C. After educating 1st-4th grades in that rural location, she then began working with NC State Extension in 2019 as a Program Coordinator. She currently serves as the Healthy Living Program Associate for NC State Extension and manages several grant funded projects. Katy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke in 2016. She then continued to complete her Master’s Degree in Reading Education and became a licensed Reading Specialist in 2019. She is a current doctoral student in the Learning, Design, and Technology program at NC State University. Her current research interests are focused on digital distraction as well as digital storytelling in rural education contexts. Email – ashaywoo@ncsu.edu

Siyu Long Siyu Long
Siyu is a doctoral student in the Learning Design and Technology program at North Carolina State University. She studied English Literature and Culture in her undergraduate studies, then received her MS in Digital Age Teaching and Learning from Johns Hopkins University. Her current research interest revolves around cross-cultural aspects in online learning, critical thinking dispositions in online learning contexts, and digital identity or self-representation in the digital environment. Min Zhuang Min Zhuang
Min started her Phd journey in Learning, Design & Technology program from Fall 2022. Before coming to NCSU, she earned a master and undergraduate degree in Engineering. Her current interests include exploring the potential of AI in online teaching and learning, particularly in leveraging machine learning for student modeling and learning analytics. Duncan Culbreth Dr. Duncan Culbreth
Duncan Culbreth got into the education field a decade ago through university housing. He received his M.Ed. in Higher Education and Student Affairs at USC in Columbia, SC, then worked there for several years before making the jump into NCSU’s Learning Design & Technology doctoral program. He received his doctorate in July 2024.Duncan’s dissertation, Examining the Role of Synchrony in Online Learner Engagement, was chaired by Dr. Martin. Email – dculbre@ncsu.edu
